Stamp: Daughters protecting themselves

One thing that pisses me off is the whole, "I want a son first, and a daughter second, so my son can protect my daughter."

How about, you teach your daughter to defend herself, instead of having her brother be her body guard. One thing I never understood is parents worry more over their daughter, and don't care what their son is doing. Yet, they teach the son self defense, teach him how to use knives and guns, even buy him knives and guns, but they don't do that with their daughters. Apparently, girls are weak and aren't suppose to have weapons or fight, even if it's to protect themselves. People are so stupid it's amazing Stop living in the past, teach your daughters to defend themselves so your son doesn't have to watch over her 24/7, and so she can actually go somewhere alone.
