Stamp: Anti 'he likes you' by Riza-Izumi Stamp: Anti 'he likes you' by Riza-Izumi
I'm so sick of people saying, "He likes you." as an excuse for boys bullying girls :| It is NOT a fucking excuse, and it needs to fucking STOP. Any time a girl gets bullied by a boy there is always some sort of excuse for him. It's bullshit.

I was tortchered and tormented all through elementary and middle school by boys, and all the teachers and my family said was, "He likes you." Yes, because treating someome like shit means they like you and that you will or should like them back :| All it did was make me hate them.

Insted of telling girls that they need to 'sit in a different seat' to be away from the boy bully, how about we stop the boy from bullying. We need to target the culprit not the victim.

P.S. I know that girls bully and that boys get bullied. But you never hear, "She likes you."

"Sweetheart! If that boy is picking on you it means he likes you!"

Couple years later...

"She keeps dating abusive men and we don't know why."

Ugh, I got this excuse from my mom a lot back in Burns. I wasn't amused with it at all. And if the "he likes you" excuse WAS the case, I flat out said that I expect better from someone and that they will never be up to my standards with their behaviour.

Hmm, I thought I commented on this stamp before. It must've been a similar stamp...

Anyway, I agree with you. I hate that "Maybe he likes you" reply. I don't give a fuck whether he likes me or not. No excuses. He shouldn't be bullying me and getting away with it. It's not always teachers that give this response, either. I told my mom that I was being bullied by this guy and we went to the guidance counselor in the school and told them and the response was "Well, maybe he just likes you". I never responded or knew what to say at the time, but when I thought about it later, I was like "Wtf..".

They didn't really do anything to put an end to it. They only made him write an apology letter (which wasn't very sincere, btw - he implied a lot of things like "I'm sorry if I did this" - if - he used the word "if!").

Also, another excuse is "Maybe they have it bad at home" (I can't remember, but I believe they told me that also). Okay, so maybe my life isn't great, either. If we're going to use excuses here, I can make up plenty of them as well to suit all the bad things I do. Does it make it right? No.

Back when I was in that stage, yes, boys were VERY immature, but I thought that if boys liked someone, they wouldn't say such awful things to them? Teasing is bad enough, but if they say something to me like "You are worthless and stupid and nobody likes you!" then I wouldn't assume they had any romantic feelings for me, let alone feelings of friendship.
